BUFFALO, NY - If your garbage or recycling was due to be picked up on Friday by Allied Waste Services, don't be surprised to find it still sitting at the curb.
Several communities -- Cheektowaga, the Town of Niagara and the City of Buffalo -- have told 2 On Your Side that a contract dispute with its workers is apparently to blame.
In the City of Buffalo, attempts are being made by the Department of Public Works to pick up recyclables. Spokesperson Mike Degeorge says it might be a little later than usual, but it will get picked up.
Robert Herman, with the Town of Niagara, says he was told by the company that Allied hopes to be back to their normal work schedules by next Wednesday, March 28th.
When reached by phone, 2 On Your Side was told the company would have no comment about the issue.
