BUFFALO, NY - A man claims he was shot during an alleged robbery attempt in Buffalo's Riverside neighborhood.
Sources tell 2 On Your Side an assailant allegedly approached the victim and pulled a gun on the man just before 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The victim said he was shot in the leg when he tried to push the gun away. Police now say the wound appears to have been self-inflicted.
Rural Metro Medical Services and Buffalo Fire treated the 18-year-old man on South Lane before taking him to Erie County Medical Center where he was treated and released.
The man told authorities the incident happened at the intersection of Philadelphia and Isabelle Streets.
