Earlier, state officials said a parole officer went to do a residence check on Demone Frazier, who is on parole for rape charges. Frazier managed to steal the officer's vehicle and fled the area.
Investigators say Frazier abandoned the parole officer's vehicle. He was later found at a home on Hempstead.
Frazier was convicted of rape in Erie County and was released on December 10, 2009 under strict supervision.
